SevaChild has developed a unique network of Indian humanitarian organizations that serve the most critical needs of the world’s largest population of impoverished people. Our goal is to ameliorate as much of their suffering as possible.

Through our network of partnering nonprofits in India, we can reach large numbers of children throughout the sub-continent to eradicate vitamin A deficiency disorders (VADD) – the number one cause of early childhood blindness, immune deficiency diseases, and even death, worldwide.
We build wells that deliver potable water in desolate, poverty-stricken areas that have been traditionally riddled with serious diseases caused by lack of access to clean water. To date (March 2025) we have completed wells in 117 impoverished Indian villages.
We distribute 30-day food ration kits to the most destitute families who have been relegated to an increased struggle for food and life’s necessities as a result of natural disasters.
SevaChild manages two Drop-In centers in two of India’s most impoverished slums. These centers offer a safe place for youngsters to come for education, a mid-day meal, and mentoring for a brighter future. The centers are also utilized to educate parents on health, hygiene, and job training.
SevaChild International’s genesis began in 2010 when its founder and president, Rick Carlton, realized the enormous need to address the many challenges underserved children faced in India, home to the world's largest population of impoverished people.
If you contribute electronically, the process requires you to indicate where you wish your donation to be directed. When mailing a check, we suggest penning a notation explaining how you wish your generosity to be utilized. When in doubt, we encourage you to contact us by telephone or e-mail if you have any concerns -- we are very happy to discuss our work, and your options for making a difference, with you.
SevaChild International is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organization registered both in California and with the federal government. As such, donations are deductible to the full extent allowable under the law.
